Wargs are small?

I remember a part of the text in the fellowship of the ring,

Through the throat of one huge leader Aragorn passed his sword with a thrust; with a great sweep Boromir heard the head off another.

Fellowship of the ring, book 2, chapter 4, Page 335-336

Does that mean Wargs are actually smaller than the adaption is Peter Jackson’s films? It seems like it.

The return of the king (2003)

The end of this wonderful trilogy.

Our copy of the return of the King freezes now and then, but I watched most of it, so I’ll just won’t it.

Plot: Merry and Pippin are finally reunited with Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, and Gandalf. But still no news of Frodo and Sam, who are being taken to the other way into Mordor. When Rohan gets news that Sauron plans to attack Gondor, the city of Kings, Aragorn and his friends, along with King Theoden and his army, ride to Gondor to help their ally. The ring is pulling heavenly on Frodo, and he’s starting to get weaker. Even if they get into Mordor, can they get all the way to Mount Doom and throw the ring into the fires without Sauron catching them?

Favorite character: Aragorn

Review: Return of the king didn’t really bring me in as The two towers and the fellowship of the ring did. The ending was really sad, and I wanted more Saruman. But either than that it was really good. It thought it was awesome when Eyowen (I think I spelled the name right) killed The witch king of Angmar. I also loves Sam’s loyalty in Mordor, carrying Frodo up almost all the way to Mount Doom (almost because Gollum began attacking them, and Sam was fighting with him, and Frodo was running up. What to ruin such a loyal deed, Gollum.) It wasn’t my favourite, but it was still really good.

I give this movie a : B+

The Two Towers (2002)

– my favorite movie of the LOTR trilogy

This was my favorite of the trilogy. The battle, Gandalf back, Gollum, the end credits song, it was just all so good.

Plot: Frodo and Sam are alone now, and must get all the way to Mordor, only they don’t know the way. Luckily, Gollum agrees to help them get to Mordor. Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli must help the people of Rohan stop Saruman from destroying Rohan. Merry and Pippin are with the ent Treebeard, and together, they go to a meeting whether or not they should go to war.

Favorite character: Gollum/Smeagol

Review: It was the best of the trilogy. I loved seeing Gandalf back, and even more powerful than before, and it was awesome to see Gollum officially. I loved how he’s fighting over his good and bad side. It’s weird, but awesome.

I give this movie an : A+

The fellowship of the ring (2001)

– The one that started it all

Like many fans, this was the first Middle-earth movie I ever watched. Sadly, I was born on 2005, so I couldn’t watch any of the Lord of the rings trilogy in theaters, and I didn’t watch the rest of the Middle-earth saga until I was 11.

Plot: When Bilbo Baggins gives his nephew Frodo Baggins a magic ring, Frodo is sent on a journey, for this ring belongs to the Dark Lord Sauron, who with the ring, can cover all of Middle-earth In shadow and fear. With him on this journey is 9 more companions; Merry BrandybuckPeregrin TookSamwiseGamgeeAragorn, son of Arathorn, Boromir of Gondor, Legolas, son of Thrandiul, Gimli, son of Gloin, and Gandalf the grey. Together, they go to throw cursed ruler of the rings of Power into the Lava’s of Mt. doom, the only place it can be destroyed.

Favorite character: Gandalf the grey

Review: I really loved the Movie. The Prologue was my favorite of all the Middle-earth prologue’s. It showed us who Sauron is, I loved how we could hear Giladriel’s voice telling us of the rings of Power even while the screen was black. It gave the beginning a bit of a mysterious and dark look to it. The music was really good, and the Movie was nothing like what I thought.

I thought Frodo was a human, and Gollum was a shriveled old creature who wanted to be alone, but helps Frodo by giving advise. Later some of the enemies men (human) can and arrested him aggressively. I thought instead of a ring needing to be destroyed, I thought a war was going on, and the enemy needed all the rings to be fully powerful. I thought the Lord of the rings was a group of people who owned a magic ring, and are the primary enemy of the enemy. I thought the Movie had an Eragon theme to it.

Now I know that Frodo’s a Hobbit, and Gollum is a shriveled old Hobbit like creature who wants the one ring for his own. Now I know the men who attacked Gollum are Faramir and his men in the Two Towers. Now I know that the one ring is the most deadly artifact in all of Middle-earth, and the war is to find the ring and make Middle-earth vulnerable, and Sauron nerds the one ring to have all of his strength back. I now know that Sauron is the Lord of the rings (Wait. So the book’s actually called Sauron? And it has a Lord of the rings theme to it.

My favorite scene was the bridge of Khazad-dûm scene, when Gandalf battled the Balrog (giant flaming monster), and I thought the scene when Merry and Pippin steal the firework.

I give this movie an: A+

Lotr movie reviews coming up

I am proud to say that on my other Tolkien blog, Gandalf Tea Wednesday, I finished making Movie reviews on the Lord of the rings trilogy. I’m also finished with the review for the Fellowship of the ring book volume, but I don’t want to post it on this blog until I’m finished with the other two volumes.

I will post the movie reviews tomorrow.

Also my review for the Fellowship of the ring book volume will be posted on the other blog, but not this one yet.
